Main Duties of Placement

Ward rounds and associated ward jobs. Elective and emergency admissions. Expected to attend some outpatient clinics.

Typical Work Pattern

9-5 working day with on-call from 5pm to 9am in addition (working the next day as usual shift) with weekend cover (1 in 6 on-call rota). Cover for Prosen Ward in Whitehills Hospital too.

Learning Opportunities

Learning through seeing patients on-call and subsequent feedback at supervision, opportunistic teaching at ward rounds and postgraduate meetings on Fridays.

  • Postgraduate lunchtime meetings - 1 hour every week.
  • FY2 teaching as per delivered education programme.
