|Main Duties of Placement||
Daily ward rounds; at least twice a week consultant-led.
Acute medical receiving with supervision from a Registrar and a Consultant.
|Typical Work Pattern||
Blocks of 6 weeks 'on call' and 6 weeks on medical ward.
Evening shifts once weekly for 4 weeks whilst on ward block.
Regular opportunities for ward-based teaching.
Weekly MDTM on most wards.
Weekly Grand Round and x-ray meeting.
Monthly Acute Medicine M&M.
Mandatory FY2 teaching programme 1 hour per week.
Interdepartmental teaching depending on ward to which you are attached.
