|Main Duties of Placement||
Assessment and treatment of adults aged 18-64 referred to the out-patient clinic and community mental health team patients, dictation of outpatient letters, case note reviews, gathering information from relatives and others, formulation and treatment strategies, management of physical health issues.
|Typical Work Pattern||
Monday-Friday 9am-5pm plus long days (to 9 pm) and blocks of night and weekend duties. All on call work is within psychiatric services.
Regular opportunities for ward-based teaching. Weekly case conferences and special lectures every two weeks.
Hospital FY2 teaching programme 1 hour per week. Four afternoon teaching sessions at SJH.
