| Main duties of placement: | Clerking of acute admissions to trauma unit and ongoing perioperative care. Clinics and operating sessions are not mandatory. |
| Typical work pattern: | The on-call rota is approved as compliant and is 1 in 9 at present with an afternoon off following a night resident on-call. |
| Learning opportunities: | Daily trauma meeting and presentation of cases. Weekly trauma X-ray meeting. Ward-based teaching on daily basis. Bimonthly morbidity/mortality and audit meetings. |
| Teaching: | As above plus mandatory Postgraduate teaching session |
| Unique selling points: | Busy tertiary referral trauma unit serving North East Scotland and Islands. Opportunity to work with motivated trauma consultants with keen interest in ongoing clinical research |
