| Main duties of placement: | Ward rounds, admitting patients, lots of practical procedures, dealing with critically ill patients, attending crash calls. |
| Typical work pattern: | Monday to Friday 0830 to 1700 for Anaesthetics including Intensive Care Unit. Also part of the Acute Receiving rota which includes out of hours. |
| Learning opportunities: | Ward-based teaching, weekly anaesthetics meeting, practical skills teaching, airway management. |
| Teaching: | One hour of FY1 mandatory teaching weekly. |
| Unique selling points: | Well supported. Lots of interesting practical skills like arterial lines and central lines. |
