| Main duties of placement: | Assessment of acute respiratory admissions including COPD, asthma and lung cancer. Also expose to CF admissions and ward attenders as part of the Scottish Adult CF service. |
| Typical work pattern: | Monday-Friday shift pattern 9am-5pm and daytime weekends. |
| Learning opportunities: | Regular opportunities for ward-based teaching. Experience of chest aspiration and chest drains. Weekly departmental clinical meeting Tuesday lunchtime and FY teaching Thursday 1pm. |
| Teaching: | Respiratory meeting 1 hour per week. Hospital FY1 teaching programme 1 hour per week. |
