Main duties of placement:
  • Ward rounds in the short stay ward.
  • Jobs and discharges for the ward patients.
  • Seeing patients with minor injuries.
  • Assisting with more unwell patients.
Typical work pattern:
  • Variety of day, late and night shifts.
  • 10-12 hour shift lengths.
  • On average, work one in two weekends.
Learning opportunities:
  • Very well supervised post so you will learn a lot as you go along.
Teaching:
  • A&E junior teaching every Thursday.
  • Also you will get to go to hospital FY1 teaching.
