Main duties of placement:

First on call for NICU and neonatal resuscitation team

Undertaking postnatal baby checks.

With support, attending venepuncture clinic, special infant clinic and undertaking outpatient reviews.

Typical work pattern:

Mixture of standard days, long days, night shifts, weekends and non-clinical days.

Perinatal Meeting

Tea @ 2 teaching & journal club

Weekly SIM/skills teaching session

Joint paediatric & radiology meeting

Neonatal nursing shadowing shifts

Audit & QI work

Teaching:

FY2 teaching as per delivered education programme.

Weekly in house teaching.

Opportunities to teach medical students.
