| Main Duties of Placement
|
- Day-to-day patient care.
- Clerking in elective/emergency admissions.
- Daily ward rounds.
|
| Typical Work Pattern
|
- 0830 - 1630 hrs daily.
- No weekends.
- No on-call shifts.
- 2 sets of nights covering West Block surgery (Plastics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Neurosurgery, Dermatology) or Haematology, Oncology and Gynaecology.

| Learning Opportunities
|
- Opportunistic teaching by registrars and consultants on the ward/during ward rounds.
- Opportunities to observe in dermatology clinics.

| Teaching
|
- FY1 teaching as per delivered education programme.
- Opportunities to be involved in medical student teaching.
|
| Unique Selling Points
|
- Opportunities to see patients with very rare conditions (e.g. Polydermatomyositis, Behçet's disease, Morphoea).
- Opportunities to learn about multiple topical treatments and dressings which will be transferable across all specialties.
