Main Duties of Placement
|
- Attend morning trauma meeting
- Clerk elective cases
- Carry out ward duties and write discharge scripts
- Attend pre-assessment/pre-admission clinics
- Clerk in of trauma patients when on-call
|
Typical Work Pattern
|
- Normal days 08:30-16:30
- Every 2 weeks long day on-call 08:30-21:00
- Weekends 08:30-21:00 once every 2 months
- Night shifts - one full week once in 4 months
- Those who have a one month placement in Ward 7 or Stracathro will receive a specific working schedule from that department.

- Mandatory FY1 teaching - approx 3 hrs each month
- FY2 lead case presentations for FY1s
