Placement	Geriatric Medicine
Year	F2
Region	North
Hospital(s)	Raigmore Hospital, Inverness
Main Duties of Placement	Daily ward round on 25-bedded ward. Weekly Clinic. Weekly Multidisciplinary Meeting. 4 month block split between 8 weeks on ward and 8 weeks on full shift medical receiving duties.
Typical Work Pattern	Standard day 9 to 5. Participation in medical on-call rota (full shift).
Learning Opportunities	Ward teaching and MDT's.
Teaching	1 full day per month group teaching including facilitated case based discussion, mandatory for FY2 trainees in Inverness.
Unique Selling Points	Dedicated care of the elderly ward. Introduction to comprehensive geriatric assessment.
