Main duties of placement: | Ward rounds; admitting elective and emergency patients; routine post-op review; preparing discharge materials; attendance at theatre as required; co-ordinating investigations; arranging onward referral. |
Typical work pattern: | Full shift with cross cover. |
Learning opportunities: | Ward based learning; weekly x-ray meeting; monthly audit/teaching meeting; daily orthopaedic x-ray review; journal club. |
Teaching: | Weekly FY1 teaching (on site); opportunity to video link to national teaching. |
