Main duties of placement:

Training would include acute medicine, bleeding unit cover with all upper and lower GI bleeds coming through the unit, care of other in-patient Gastroenterology emergencies including liver failure, inflammatory bowel disease etc. Exposure to one or two outpatient clinics in gastroenterology will also be available.

Ward teaching and journal clubs.

Teaching:

2 x 2hrs mandatory teaching a month for FY2 trainees.
