Main duties of placement:

Ward based – ward rounds and ward duties.

You will be expected to help supervise the F1 in the ward

Typical work pattern:

Full shift.

You may cross cover Surgical patients after 17:00 when on a Long day and will cover the wards and A&E.

Learning opportunities:

Oncology (fortnightly) and M&M Meetings (monthly), monthly evening Medical Updates via VC with RCPE, weekly Hospital Educational meetings.

Morning handover where all new patients are discussed.

Teaching:

1 hour Peer teaching every Tuesday, 1 hour 

Unique selling points:

Work in a small close knit friendly team with direct Consultant supervision.

Particularly wide range of conditions encountered, and very good general experience.

Experience of being the first doctor to see unselected patients in ED, shared with the F2 in Surgery or GPST/CDF and make a management plans for them, under supervision.
