Main duties of placement: | Ward rounds, planning investigations, doing ward-based procedures, discharging and correspondence letters. Looking after patient welfare on the ward. |
Typical work pattern: | 9-5 Monday - Friday. Occasional weekend cover and late nights. |
Learning opportunities: | Ward-based teaching. Formal teaching once a month. Grand rounds. |
Teaching: | 1 day a month FY2 teaching. This takes the form of curriculum-based teaching followed by facilitated small group case based discussions. |
