Main duties of placement:
  1. Psychiatric assessment of medical and surgical patients in a busy General Hospital with a range of specialties including Oncology and Infectious Diseases.
  2. Evening and weekend work in Acute Medicine in the Acute Receiving Unit WGH.
Typical work pattern:

9am - 5pm work in department of Psychological Medicine.

Evening and weekend shifts in Acute Medicine on compliant rota.

Learning opportunities:

Regular opportunities for ward-based teaching.

Daily departmental clinical reviews of referred patients.

Teaching:

Hospital FY1 teaching programme 1 hour per week.

Hospital Grand Round 1 hour per week.

Regular department teaching sessions.
