Main duties of placement:

Ward rounds. 

Ward jobs. 

On call. 

Outpatient clinic attendance possible but not rostered. 

Hospital at night. 

Typical work pattern:

Mixture of 9am-5pm shifts on wards, 9am-9.30pm on calls, MAU shifts (also 9-5 or 9-9.30), HAN (9pm-9.30 am) and weekend cover. 

Learning opportunities:

Impromptu teaching on ward rounds. 

Grand rounds weekly and CME every second month. 

Weekly journal club. 

Teaching:

FY2 teaching once a week.

DME teaching once a week (and running teaching sessions at this).
