Main duties of placement: | Care of adult in-patients aged 18-64 who require psychiatric rehabilitation. Clerking in, extensive case note reviews, gathering information from relatives and others, formulation and treatment strategies, ward rounds, discharge letters, care of physical health problems. |
Typical work pattern: | Monday-Friday 9am-5pm plus long days (to 9pm) and blocks of night and weekend duties. All on call work is within psychiatric service. |
Learning opportunities: | Regular opportunities for ward-based teaching and to attend team learning sessions. Option to attend weekly psychiatry wide case conferences, special lectures every two weeks. Weekly Supervision. |
