Main duties of placement:

Care of adult in-patients aged 18-64 who require psychiatric rehabilitation. Clerking in, extensive case note reviews, gathering information from relatives and others, formulation and treatment strategies, ward rounds, discharge letters, care of physical health problems.

Typical work pattern:

Monday-Friday 9am-5pm plus long days (to 9pm) and blocks of night and weekend duties. All on call work is within psychiatric service.

Learning opportunities:

Regular opportunities for ward-based teaching and to attend team learning sessions.

Option to attend weekly psychiatry wide case conferences, special lectures every two weeks.
