Main duties of placement: | Ward-based placement. MOE assessment of new patients e.g. falls/cognition/continence. Participate in consultant-led ward rounds and lead own ward rounds. Participate in MDTs. |
Typical work pattern: | 9am-5pm days with long days 9am-9pm approximately two times in a normal week. Approximately 1 in 8 weekend days 9am-5pm and also on HAN rota approximately once a month. |
Learning opportunities: | Ward-based teaching. Rapid rundown multidisciplinary meetings daily. |
Teaching: | Departmental teaching Monday lunchtime (1 hour). Radiology meeting Thursday lunchtime (1 hour). RIE FY2 teaching (1 hour). Departmental Morbidity Review Meeting – last Thursday of each month (13:15 – 14:00) Weekly Tuesday Lunchtime Teaching Seminar (13:15 – 14:00) |
