Main duties of placement: | Daily ward rounds; at least twice a week, consultant led. Acute medical receiving with supervision from a Registrar and a Consultant. |
Typical work pattern: | Blocks of 6 weeks 'on call' and 6 weeks on medical ward. Evening shifts once weekly for 4 weeks whilst on ward block. |
Learning opportunities: | Microteaching in AU1 weekdays Regular opportunities for ward-based teaching. Weekly MDTM on most wards. Weekly Grand Round and x-ray meeting. |
