Main duties of placement:

Assessment of paediatrics and neonates in children's ward or neonatal ward.

Routine baby checks on postnatal ward.

Typical work pattern:

4 weekends on, 4 weekends off.

Learning opportunities:

Regular contact with seniors multiple times a day.

Departmental teaching 1 hour weekly.

NLS course.

Teaching:

Mandatory protected teaching time for:

  • NHS Fife Medical Education Services FY2 Core Education Programme delivering 1 hour per week.
  • NHS Fife Medical Education Services FY2 Core Simulation Programme delivering 3 sessions per block.

Departmental teaching:

  • Departmental internal teaching programme 1 hour per week.
  • Department grand round 1 hour per week.
  • NHS Fife Grand Round weekly teaching.
