Main duties of placement:

Accompanying senior members of the team on ward rounds.

Ward work.

Discharge summaries.

Typical work pattern:

Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm plus providing cover to the GI ward (205) at weekends (Friday to Sunday 9am to 9.15pm).

There is no Hospital at Night cover on this job.

Learning opportunities:

Juniors report very good learning opportunities.

There is a unit MDT on Wednesday for the chronic patients with organised audit groups and a monthly renal Morbidity and Mortality meeting on a Thursday.

Teaching:

There is renal teaching for junior doctors on Wednesday lunchtimes.

Hospital F1 teaching programme 1 hour per week (Tuesday).

Unique selling points:

Consultants and registrars are very keen to teach. This is a very well supported job. 

No Hospital at Night commitment.
