Main duties of placement:

Accompanying senior members of the team on ward rounds, ward work, discharge summaries. 

Typical work pattern:

Respiratory Medicine: Monday to Friday 9am-5pm with late shifts 2.15-9.15pm.

Weekend cover on ward 204 is provided approximately once a month, working 8.45am to 9.15pm Friday to Sunday.

There are also blocks of Hospital at Night. 

Learning opportunities:

Teaching on ward rounds. 

Weekly radiology meeting. 

Weekly case presentations on a Wednesday. 

Registrars are always available for discussion. 

Teaching:

Hospital F1 teaching programme 1 hour per week (Tuesday).

Unique selling points:

Assessing medical patients who are acutely ill, consultant teaching on ward rounds. 

Very well supported Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm.

Registrars available for support out of hour.
