Main duties of placement:

Ward rounds and jobs generated. 

Interaction with OGS HAN

Typical work pattern:

The rota is pretty generous with some hard weeks followed by lots of time off; a good mix. 

Typical day is 8-5. Long days are 8am-8.30pm. 

Admitting shifts are 9am-9.30pm.

Learning opportunities:

One educational development session and ad hoc ward teaching.

Teaching:

Weekly orthopaedic teaching in addition to FY teaching.

Unique selling points:

Ward based practical skills including FIB, compartment monitor, PICC line maintenance.
