Main duties of placement: | Anaesthetics: pre-assess patients, cannulate patients pre-op, draw up IV drugs, manage the airway (under consultant supervision), monitor during surgery (under consultant supervision) ICU: review patients before the ward round, present them on the ward round, complete ward jobs. |
Typical work pattern: | Weekly working pattern is Monday – Friday 08.00-17.00, including 08.00-20.30 one day a week and one day off. You will be required to work weekends. |
Learning opportunities: | Anaesthetics: Daily teaching with the consultant. ICU: Regular opportunities for ward-based teaching. |
