Main duties of placement:

General medical care of patients on the Acute Receiving Unit or General Medical ward including ward rounds and reviewing new admissions. Working as part of the multi-disciplinary team in these areas.

Typical work pattern:

Shift pattern varies between 9am-5pm, 8am-8.30pm, 9am-9.30pm and 4pm-9.30pm.

Learning opportunities:

As well as weekly F1 teaching there are weekly departmental meetings attended by the whole unit as well as plenty opportunities for 'on the job' learning and clinical audit.

Teaching:

Hospital F1 teaching 1 hour per week.

Unit departmental meetings 1 hour per week.
