| Main duties of placement: | Psychiatric risk assessment of patients admitted to hospital following self-harm. Psychiatric assessment of medical and surgical inpatients. |
| Typical work pattern: | Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, but with blocks of Hospital at Night duties and a small number of weekends on-call in the self-harm service. |
| Learning opportunities: | Regular opportunities for ward-based teaching. Weekly departmental clinical meeting (2 hours). |
| Teaching: | Departmental internal teaching programme 1 hour per week. Hospital FY1 teaching programme 1 hour per week. |
