Main Duties of Placement | This is a busy job which incorporates initial assessment of the patients on admission to hospital and provides the structure to follow the patient throughout the admission, through diagnostics and eventually discharge. |
Typical Work Pattern | Full shift rota. |
Learning Opportunities | Opportunity to assess patients at the front door, lots of interaction with specialties throughout Lothian, regular MDTs, enthusiastic teaching ward rounds at the front door. Simulated teaching using SIM Man. |
Teaching | Mandatory FY1 teaching provided within the hospital, X-ray meetings, regular M&M and Friday lunchtime meetings as well as informative teaching ward rounds. |
Unique Selling Points | A well supported team-based structure allowing continuity of care so that the patient journey can be followed from admission to discharge. |
