Main Duties of Placement

This is a busy job which incorporates initial assessment of the patients on admission to hospital and provides the structure to follow the patient throughout the admission, through diagnostics and eventually discharge.

Typical Work Pattern

Full shift rota.

Learning Opportunities

Opportunity to assess patients at the front door, lots of interaction with specialties throughout Lothian, regular MDTs, enthusiastic teaching ward rounds at the front door. Simulated teaching using SIM Man.

Teaching

Mandatory FY1 teaching provided within the hospital, X-ray meetings, regular M&M and Friday lunchtime meetings as well as informative teaching ward rounds.
