Placement Breast Surgery with Urology cover

Main Duties of Placement

Breast Surgery:

   Pre- and Post-operative care and management of complications.

   Pre-op assessment clinics.

   Assisting in theatre in various breast augmentations. 

Urology on-call:

   General ward work.

   Acute urological emergencies.

   Admissions from ARU.

Typical Work Pattern

Regular day: 9-5pm.

Late shift: 2-10pm (one week at a time).

2 weekends in 4 months: 9-10pm Fri-Sun.

No Nights.

Learning Opportunities

Regular opportunities for ward-based teaching with registrars.


Departmental internal junior doctor teaching programme 1 hour per week.

Hospital FY1 teaching programme 1 hour per week.
