| Main Duties of Placement | Accompanying senior team members on ward rounds and doing ward jobs such as discharge letters. There is no CCU component to the F1 job. |
| Typical Work Pattern | Monday to Friday 9am-5pm with late cover till 9.30pm once or twice per week. |
| Learning Opportunities | There is a multi-disciplinary team meeting with cardiothoracics on Friday lunchtimes and monthly morbidity and mortality meetings. |
| Teaching | Hospital F1 teaching programme 1 hour per week (Tues). |
| Unique Selling Points | During weekend and evening cover there is ample opportunity to deal with emergencies e.g. by clerking in the acute MI patients. |
