Main Duties of Placement
|
- Care of children and neonates undergoing general surgical and surgical specialty procedures.
|
Typical Work Pattern
|
- Full shift, including night shifts, with cover provided for emergency surgical admissions.
- Hospital at night team on-site.
|
Learning Opportunities
|
- Plentiful, dedicated surgical teaching in addition to active hospital CME programme.
- Most trainees undertake and present projects during this placement.
|
Teaching
|
- Mandatory FY1 teaching.
- Bleep free surgical teaching 2 hrs a week.
- Lunchtime CME Monday and Tuesday.
- Opportunity to attend general paediatric teaching on a Friday AM.
