Main Duties of Placement | Care of children and neonates within both general paediatrics and subspecialties e.g. renal, cardiology, respiratory, GI, neurology and haemato-oncology. |
Typical Work Pattern | Full shift, excluding night shifts, with cover provided for emergency medical admissions and ward inpatients as part of hospital at night team. |
Learning Opportunities | Plentiful, dedicated medical teaching in addition to active hospital CME programme. Plentiful opportunities for research and audit. Well stocked library and learning centre. |
Teaching | Paediatric grand round on a Friday morning. Lunchtime CME Monday and Tuesday. Specific subspecialty teaching. |
Unique Selling Points | Very well supervised post which will provide opportunities for presentations and publications to the motivated trainee. Good preparation for a career in any paediatrics or GP. |
