Main duties of placement:

Duties include ward round and ward care responsibilities involving surgical emergency, acutely unwell and care of elective surgery patients within all of the surgical subspecialties in QEUH.

Typical work pattern:

Full Shift, with participation in Hospital at Night Team

Departmental specific unit meetings

Significant opportunity for adhoc surgical procedure learning and career opportunities

Audit and research projects actively encouraged in full range of surgical specialities

  • Subspecialty surgery weekly teaching curriculum

This placement can be tailored to any of the surgical specialities included of General Surgery, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Urology, Vascular and ENT, providing a unique opportunity to gain an insight into multiple surgical firms.

Excellent exposure to the management of critically unwell surgical patients, in a controlled and supervised environment.

Hands on valued member of team, with exposure to surgical procedures.
