Main duties of placement:
  • Ward-based with daily ward rounds.
  • Consultant ward rounds almost every week day.
  • No outpatient clinics.
Typical work pattern:
  • One late working until 21:30hrs per week and weekends worked 1 in 4.
  • No night working.
  • Holidays are pre-allocated.
Learning opportunities:
  • Monday X-ray meeting.
  • Wednesday Core Curriculum meeting.
  • Thursday Journal Club.
  • Friday Grand Rounds.
Teaching:

Wednesday Core Curriculum Teaching is mandatory.

Unique selling points:

Rotate at monthly intervals with at least 4 weeks in Medical Receiving and most rotations passing through Cardiology, Respiratory and Gastroenterology wards.
