Main duties of placement:
  • Ward rounds.
  • Assisting in theatre.
  • Peri-operative care.
  • Assessment and initial management of emergency admissions.
Typical work pattern:
  • Full shift with nights on hospital at night team.
  • No daytime weekends.
Learning opportunities:
  • Informal ward teaching.
  • Weekly M+M/educational unit meeting.
  • Weekly colorectal, UGI and vascular MDT.
Teaching:

Unit teaching 1 hour per week lunchtime teaching.

Additional ortho/surgical teaching program being developed.

Working closely with a group of enthusiastic consultants as a integral part of the team.

Opportunity to learn minor operative procedures.
