Main duties of placement:
  • Ward rounds.
  • Assisting in theatre.
  • Peri-operative care.
  • Assessment and initial management of emergency admissions.
  • Fracture clinic.
Typical work pattern:

Full shift with nights on Hospital at Night team. No daytime weekends.

Learning opportunities:
  • Informal ward teaching.
  • Daily trauma meeting.
Teaching:

Unit teaching 1 hour per week lunchtime teaching.

Additional ortho/surgical teaching program being developed.

Working closely with a group of enthusiastic consultants as a integral part of the team.
