Main duties of placement:

Theatre, clinics, ward cover.

Typical work pattern:

8-5 elective shifts, on-call as part of 21 person rota. Day shifts, Night shifts, Critical care/HDU weeks.

Learning opportunities:

Practical surgical experience as part of breast, UGI and colorectal teams. 2 weeks of critical care experience.

Teaching:

Weekly departmental teaching and multi-disciplinary meetings.

Unique selling points:

Critical care placement and teaching, opportunities to develop surgical portfolio in theatre.
