Main duties of placement:

Ward rounds including review of direct admissions to wards.

Typical work pattern:
  • Full shift.
  • Out of hours on-call rota.
Learning opportunities:
  • Consultant-supervised review of new and unwell patients seven days weekly on all four wards on 7th floor.
  • Consultant-led ward rounds.
  • Thursday lunchtime respiratory educational meeting (1 hour per week).
  • Tuesday lunchtime radiology MDTM (1 hour per week).
Teaching:

Departmental and Junior Doctors’ Clinical Forum.

Unique selling points:

Exposure to complex respiratory subspecialities not represented at other sites in West of Scotland (Cystic Fibrosis, Pulmonary vascular disease, Neuromuscular and long-term ventilation etc.) including working as part of multi-disciplibary team.
