Main duties of placement:

Twice weekly ward rounds and one multidisciplinary team meeting per consultant.

Typical work pattern:

Full shift for our wards 9-5; cross cover medical receiving on various shifts including 1-10pm, 9pm-9am, 5-10pm, including weekend working. Also 1:8 weekend cover for medicine for the elderly wards (8am - midday).

Learning opportunities:

FY2 teaching programme, hospital postgraduate meetings and Friday medical unit meetings/x-ray meeting.

Teaching:

Ward-based and half days for GP and FY2 staff per programme.
