Main duties of placement:

Care of children and neonates within both general paediatrics and subspecialties e.g. renal, cardiology, respiratory, GI, neurology and haemato-oncology.

Typical work pattern:

Full shift, excluding night shifts, with cover provided for emergency medical admissions and ward inpatients as part of hospital at night team.

Learning opportunities:
  • Plentiful, dedicated medical teaching in addition to active hospital CME programme.
  • Plentiful opportunities for research and audit.
  • Well stocked library and learning centre.
Teaching:
  • Paediatric grand round on a Friday morning.
  • Lunchtime CME Monday and Tuesday.
