Main duties of placement: |

Typical work pattern: | Monday to Friday 8.00 am to 4.00 pm (may be slightly earlier or later). Long shift (till 9.00 pm) every two weeks. Weekend (8 am to 9.00 pm) every month, plus 1/2 weekends of nights and a further week of nights. |
Learning opportunities: | Multi-disciplinary teams: Breast, Colorectal. Surgical Journal Club/Morbidity & Mortality Meetings on alternate weeks. Receiving shifts with Registrar. |
Teaching: | Every five weeks, there is a group of students for whom you may be asked to run two teaching sessions on suturing, using plastic models. |
Unique selling points: | Opportunity to do the Minor Operations Clinics. A generous amount of time between Breast Clinics and Theatre to go to General Theatre and receive patients on the wards. |
