Main duties of placement:
  • Daily ward rounds with consultants.
  • Assessment of acutely ill surgical patients.
  • Initial review of new surgical admissions.
  • Assisting in theatre Practical procedures; Nose packing, removal of foreign objects from nose, ears and mouth, nasal endoscopy.
  • Attendance at clinic.
Typical work pattern:

Full shift.

Teaching:
  • Protected Tuesday lunchtime teaching.
  • Wednesday lunchtime hospital meeting.
