Main Duties of Placement

Out-patient clinics.

Assessment of GP referrals under supervision.

Review of patients.

Involvement in the day unit.

Working within an MDT.

Assessment of liaison referrals.

A & E referrals.

Clerking of admissions to ward 2.

Review in-patients.

Typical Work Pattern

Partial shift - long shifts and night shifts.

Cover Mental Health Services in FV.

Provide emergency assessment service.

A qualified nurse available to do joint assessments of referrals.

Learning Opportunities

Ward rounds.

MDT Meeting.

CPD Session including Journal Club and Case Presentation.

Teaching

Fortnightly internal teaching with great attendance and participation from senior staff. Many external speakers invited. Wide variety of topics. Receives excellent feedback.

Mandatory Foundation teaching.
