Placement Paediatrics

Hospital(s) The Royal Hospital for Children Glasgow
Main Duties of Placement

Care of children and neonates within both general paediatrics and subspecialties e.g. renal, cardiology, respiratory, GI, neurology and haemato-oncology.

Typical Work Pattern

Full shift, excluding night shifts, with cover provided for emergency medical admissions and ward inpatients as part of hospital at night team.

Learning Opportunities

Plentiful, dedicated medical teaching in addition to active hospital CME programme.

Plentiful opportunities for research and audit.

Well stocked library and learning centre.

Teaching

Paediatric grand round on a Friday morning.

Lunchtime CME Monday and Tuesday.

Specific subspecialty teaching.

Unique Selling Points

Very well supervised post which will provide opportunities for presentations and publications to the motivated trainee.

Good preparation for a career in any paediatrics or GP.
