Placement Respiratory Medicine

Main Duties of Placement

Ward rounds including review of direct admissions to wards.

Typical Work Pattern

Full shift.

Out of hours on-call rota.

Learning Opportunities

Consultant-supervised review of new and unwell patients seven days weekly on all four wards on 7th floor.

Consultant-led ward rounds.

Thursday lunchtime respiratory educational meeting (1 hour per week).

Tuesday lunchtime radiology MDTM (1 hour per week).

Teaching

Departmental and Junior Doctors’ Clinical Forum.

Unique Selling Points

Exposure to complex respiratory subspecialities not represented at other sites in West of Scotland (Cystic Fibrosis, Pulmonary vascular disease, Neuromuscular and long-term ventilation etc.) including working as part of multi-disciplibary team.
