The Grampian GP Specialty Training Programme is based in the North-East of Scotland with practices covering a large geographical area from Macduff in the North, Inverbervie in the South, and Aboyne in the West. In addition to our more rural practices, we have a good mix of Urban training practices with varying demography in the city of Aberdeen giving a good mix of both rural and urban practices to train and work in.

Most of our hospital posts are based in the Foresterhill Site in Aberdeen which is over 125 acres in size and houses one of Europe's largest clinical complexes, including Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and the Children's and Maternity Hospitals. Further major teaching hospitals, including Royal Cornhill and Woodend Hospitals are close by. There are also Community Hospitals in Aberdeenshire which are attached to some of our training practices. More information can be found on the NHS Grampian website: NHS Grampian Homepage.

Out of Hours GP training experience is undertaken within GMEDs which is a well-established GP out of hours service serving Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, and Moray.

The Grampian programme offers a combination of high-quality GP training in a welcoming and helpful environment, coupled with varied recreational, cultural. and sporting opportunities close-by - ideal for ensuring a good work: life balance.
