Acute Care Common Stem - Emergency Medicine (ACCS-EM)

Trainers have significant experience of higher training and a proven track record of excellence within the programme a service consistently scoring highly in Clinical and Educational supervision (GMC Trainee survey).
Trainees receive full exposure to a wide range of EM/Acute Med presentations during 1 year of rotation and comprehensive exposure to all aspects of Anaesthesia inc experienced gained working in Intensive Care While rotating around the various ACCS Specialities Trainees are able to participate in the speciality specific training opportunities most of which are protected / bleep free. The Specialities comprising ACCS in East of Scotland have developed close working professional relationships and manage the training programme in a fair and equitable way.
The 3 year programme includes 6 months each of EM and AM with 1 year of Anaesthetics incorporating, as a minimum, 3 months of ITU.
Research, audit, teaching and management opportunities
Tayside as a region in which to train has much to offer. Housing and amenities are good and with excellent road networks the region is within 1.25 hours of Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen. Dundee city has done much to regenerate and has an active cultural centre in the University quarter with Dundee Rep theatre, Dundee Contemporary Arts Centre and successfully developing the only branch outside London of the V&A Museum.
Sporting and Leisure activities are numerous with top quality Golf and access to the hills and countryside including Glenshee ski centre all in close proximity.
