Explore Foundation training in the North region and discover the groups and locations available. The North region offers a wide range of foundation training opportunities across mainland, remote and rural healthcare settings, including Highland and the Scottish Islands. Training in these locations can give you valuable insight into how care is delivered across different parts of the patient journey, from primary and community care through to hospital-based services.
Remote and rural placements can help you develop confidence, adaptability and a broader understanding of healthcare delivery in smaller, geographically diverse communities. These experiences offer foundation doctors the opportunity to build strong clinical skills while gaining an appreciation of the unique challenges and rewards of working in remote and rural Scotland.
