| Main duties of placement: | FY1 doctor for haematology/oncology ward at Crosshouse:

| Typical work pattern: | Integrates as part of the FY1 medical rota; a rolling rota of backshifts, night shifts and weekend shifts over the block. |
| Learning opportunities: | Ward teaching on ward rounds etc. Weekly local MDT for haematology patients in area. Regional MDT meetings for lymphoma and other diseases. |
| Teaching: | Mandatory FY1 teaching every Tuesday on a variety of subjects. Medical education meetings on Wednesday presenting cases and discussion with a more senior medical trainee. Continuing Medical Education meetings on a Friday. Ongoing opportunities for additional resuscitation training over year led by resus officers. |
