| Main duties of placement: | Day shifts, long days, weekends and taster nights. FY1s also cover ‘virtual’ ward patients – these are patients at home who are awaiting scans, procedures, results etc |

| Learning opportunities: | Well supported role, highly motivated team and plenty of opportunities for Workplace Based Assessments. |
| Teaching: | Robust Foundation Teaching programme in NHSL and Foundation doctors have protected time on rota to attend this. |
| Unique selling points: | Core part of acute medical team, i.e. not rotational into other non-acute areas. This will help enhance sense of belonging and wellbeing. |
